OUR PROGRAMS

MEN'S ANGER MANAGEMENT/VIOLENCE ABATEMENT PROGRAM: is for African American men to address the issue of community and domestic violence This program is designed to provide men with insight into the importance of taking responsiblity for dealing with fellings of anger, frustration and helplessness so that the stresses of daily living don't erupt in violence in the community or against loved ones. This program utilizes mentorship and a cognitive approach to help clients identify and implement alternative behaviors that prevent abuse.

MEN'S PARENTING: is for African American fathers and father figures to address the issues of paternity, reunification, family relations, a father's ability to parent, and reduce the rates of absenteeism for African American fathers and father figures. The program provide structure and insight to assist fathers in making healty choices while identifying and eliminating barriers to healty parenting such as chemical use/abuse, criminal behavior, domestic violence, and education and employment issuses that affect the overall well being of their children.

EAST AFRICAN MEN'S PROGRAM: is for men of East African descent primarily Somali to address chemical dependency with a focus on "Khat use / abuse", as well as community and domestic violence issues. With the assistance of staff of East African descent clients are provide with skills to identfiy and implement alternative behaviors that prevent abuse and assist in deceasing the stress of adjusting to a new culture.

CHEMICAL HEALTH/ ANTI-VIOLENCE PROGRAM: is a licenced Rule 31 dual-diagnostic gender specific, program, which integrates therapeutic and cognitive treatment methods, to address chemical as well as community and domestic violence issues simutaneously. This program also assists clients to identify and implement alternative behaviors that prevent abuse.

RELAPSE PREVENTION PROGRAM: is designed to assist individuals in reestablishing a sober lifestyle. By developing appropriate skills to deal with the fellings of anger, frustration, helplessness and the triggers or stresses of daily living to stop the cycle of relapse.

WOMEN'S PROGRAM: is designed to provide women perpetrator of violence with insight and understanding into many of the issues that negatively impact a woman's ability to maintain abstinence from mood altering chemicals, sustain healthy personal relationships, impact her ability to parent her children, manage anger, manage finances, maintain housing, maintain employment, or pursue basic educational goals.

WOMEN'S PARENTING PROGRAM: is designed for mothers in the child protection system to address the issues of family reunification, personal relationships, mother's ability to parent in a healthy manner and reduce the rate of out of home placement for African American children. The program provide structure and insight to assist mothers in making healthy choices while identifying and eliminating barriers to healthy parenting such as chemical use, the inappropriate expression of anger, domestic violence, education and employment issues that affect the overall well being of her children.
